Harrowden goes large at Groundsfest '25
Harrowden celebrates Birds & Bees
Groundsfest 2025 in September meant an all-new stand designed to celebrate ten years of Meadowmat Birds & Bees.
With a “Flower Power” concept that captured the essence of Birds & Bees Harrowden featured turf, sedum and Birds & Bees at Groundsfest 2025. A green roof featuring Hs150 topped everything off.
Flower Power was a concept that emerged during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was associated with a nonviolent, peaceful approach to social and political change.
Meadowmat Birds & Bees has been all about the power of flowers for the last ten years. It is ten years since we introduced it to the landscaping world.
Meadowmat is now a key part of our BNG offering and can be seen as part of a peaceful approach in horticulture emphasising greater harmony with nature, supporting pollinators and offering an alternative to traditional lawns and groundcover.
It was introduced because our countryside has suffered a dramatic reduction in wild flowers which has had a knock-on effect for insects, birds and pollinators.
Birds and Bees Meadowmat® can actively support biodiversity. It has a long flowering period which means that it will supply pollen and nectar for bees, butterflies, hoverflies and moths all through the spring and summer months and well into autumn. It is also a source of food for caterpillars and a vital part of butterfly and moth life cycles.
Meadowmat Birds & Bees was and is, one of the ways we try to redress the balance.

“Groundsfest gives us a real chance to apply our practical skills with transport, operations and IT all pulling together to create a fantastic stand. This year was all about Meadowmat Birds & Bees as its ten years since we introduced it to the landscaping world. Now its a key part of our BNG offering”
