The Role

An exciting opportunity for a Turf Harvester Operator / Farm Worker has become available within the largest turf grower in the UK. We are a diverse farming group and specialise in turf, potatoes, wheat and other arable crops.

We are seeking a candidate who will primarily harvest turf but is multi-skilled and able to be involved in all aspects of the farm, including the arable operations as well as turf production and maintenance.

You will be a team player, preferably with prior agricultural experience. Driving license essential. Ability to operate a forklift desirable. You will be expected to work overtime to meet business requirements. You must have your own transport for this position due to lack of public transport near to the farm sites and the requirement to be very flexible with working times and locations.

We are looking for a punctual, reliable and hard-working individual who wishes to pursue a career in the farming and agricultural industry.

Remuneration
  •  28 days holiday including bank holidays. 20 days paid at an enhanced rate to include average overtime.

The Role

Harrowden Turf Ltd is one of the UK’s leading turf producers, supplying high-quality turf & landscaping products to homeowners, landscapers, construction projects, commercial & retail customers nationwide.

We’re looking for a professional, dependable and flexible Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team based in Feltwell, Norfolk.

This is more than just a driving role. We’re seeking someone who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, works safely and efficiently, and is willing to support the wider operation when required.

As a Harrowden Class 1 Driver, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our products are delivered safely on time and to the highest standard.

 

Delivery & Transport

  • Safely deliver turf and associated landscape products to residential, commercial and construction sites across the UK
  • Operate a Class 1 vehicle equipped with a Moffett-mounted forklift
  • Ensure loads are secured, compliant and transported safely at all times
  • Complete deliveries efficiently while maintaining high service standards and communication

 

Customer Service

  • Act as a professional ambassador for Harrowden Turf Ltd
  • Build positive relationships with customers at delivery locations
  • Provide a courteous and helpful service on every delivery

 

Compliance & Safety

  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting
  • Adhere to Driver Hours, Tachograph Regulations and the Working Time Directive
  • Maintain full compliance with vehicle weight restrictions, load security and company safety procedures
  • Follow all company and customer site safety requirements

 

Operational Support

  • Assist with yard, site or operational duties when not driving
  • Work independently and manage daily responsibilities effectively
  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team
What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Full Class 1 (LGV C+E) Licence
  • Valid Driver CPC (DQC)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good understanding of driver regulations and compliance requirements
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
  • Strong communication skills and good spoken English
  • Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements

 

Desirable Skills

  • Rear-Mounted Forklift (Moffett) Licence
  • FORS experience
  • Experience delivering to construction sites and commercial locations

 

Training may be provided for the right candidate.
