Sedums are succulents. Not only are they rich in pollen and nectar, they are also a great food source for bees, butterflies, moths and hoverflies. Moreover, when planted as ground cover, they offer a low-maintenance alternative to a traditional lawn only requiring a feed a couple of times a year. Plus, they are generally drought-tolerant and come in a wide variety of spellbinding colours and species. In the garden they can be a godsend, happy on the ground or roofs. They are tolerant of most conditions aside from being wet all the time.

• Sedum Ground Mat Kits

• Our Enviromat® Sedum Ground Mat Kits contain everything you need to create beautiful ornamental ground cover . They flower from April to the end of October. Primarily, it’s a truly stunning, very low maintenance alternative to a grass lawn. Furthermore, the foliage of our sedum ground mat kit is evergreen, beautifully textured and full of interest all year round.

  Not only are sedum ground mats great for a sunny spot but they are especially useful where the soil is very dry – or even non-existent. This means that you can create a luscious and beautiful area of foliage almost anywhere, bringing that space to life. As the mats are delivered with at least 95% plant coverage, you can rest assured that the finished project will look outstanding. All you need to do is place each slab onto a prepared surface and give them a good watering until established.

• The matting itself is specially made using recycled products, so you can also feel proud that you are helping to keep the environment healthier. Not only is it strong and easy to handle it is also designed to keep the growing medium (substrate) within the mat. As a result our sedum ground mats feature no loss of substrate due to handling, transportation or even heavy rain after installation. For that reason, sedum is great for sloping banks or for disguising manhole covers (the mat can be easily moved to allow access).
• Sedum Plugs + Plants

• Sedum plants are native to parts of Europe, Siberia, West Asia and Northern Africa. Their dense foliage takes on a red tinge in winter months turning into vibrant greens in warmer times. We have a range of sedum species providing instant diversity, colour and interest. All the sedum species in these plugs will flower, producing tiny flowers of pinks, reds, yellow and white. Plus you get all the normal benefits of sedum – a great plant for nectar supporting pollinators and insects alike. 

  With such a variety of species sedum provides a long period of flowering, typically from April through to late September.  Sedum’s varied abilities makes it ideal as ground cover. Being drought tolerant and tolerant of poor soils, sedum is also ideal for green roofs, rockeries or planters. All they ask is a well-drained location with good sun.
